More hiking in Les Calanques (Finger Inlets in the South of France) | Utah Travel Photographer

When we were in Marseille, we stayed in our first AirBnB. It was awesome and opened up a whole new world to us of places to stay and things to do. So one night on AirBnB we saw an excursion to hike to a “Secret Cave” just outside of Marseille in the Calanques (finger inlets). So we booked it and met up with our tour guide for the day, Helene, and met another cute gal (whose name I have since forgotten!) and we hiked about 20 mins up and down the side of the mountain next to the Port de Callalongues near Marseille.

Port de Callelongue. I don’t know why, but I absolutely loved this view. I don’t know if it’s the boats that seem vintage. I just love it.

Just the cutest little seaside town.

The view from the port.

Hanging out waiting to meet up with our tour guide for the day.

Hiking up and down the mountain with the most amazing views of the Mediterranean. I wish I’d seen this view at sunset!

And we made it to the “secret cave”! Our tour guide said she hikes this several times a week and rarely ever sees anyone there. When we were there, there were a couple of other guys who knew the “secret”.

View from the cave to the ocean.

Look! This proves we were there!

Mike swam. I fell in and quickly climbed out.

The water was such a beautiful green/blue/turquoise-y color.

Then we spent about an hour just lounging on the rocks and talking to other travelers from all over the world. It was a pretty great day 🙂
